Coffee Table in Beech

Constructed from English Beech this 18" x 32" table has a magazine rack underneath which absorbed 16' of 5/8" ramin dowel. The top was made from 9 lengths of 2" wide x 7/8" thick beech, each edge being planed flat and glued to its neighbour. The table top is attached to the frame with six buttons - two on each long side and one on each end in the centre. The finish was obtained with 5 coats of Liberon 'Finishing Oil' being rubbed down with steel wool between coats and finally a dressing of Liberon 'Black Bison' neutral wax polish. Adjustable Angle Projector Stand

I designed this device to overcome the limited height adjustment range of our astronomical society's slide projector. It is made from a half inch thick piece of laminated chipboard 10" wide by 11" deep with beech details and jack components. The lateral strips on the top furnish a firm seating for the payload by providing a ridge against which the feet of the projector can rest.

It has proved to be very versatile in quickly setting up the required angle with a wingnut used to rotate the 6mm dia studding. The hole in the foot at this end is a clearance for the thread while the similar hole at the other end of the rod is tapped 6mm to suit the studding.
